Entirely new Preschool opened in Heivelden-Heuveleind.

From 22 February last, a new toddler playroom was opened through a collaboration between De Heydonck primary school, Little People childcare centre and the Municipality of Best.

The site is located in the primary school 'the Heydonck' and next to the Little People childcare centre. The working method is entirely focused on toddler play and early childhood education. All children aged 2 to 4 are more than welcome here.

Toddler play is entirely within the objectives of the Municipality of Best regarding the provision of Toddler Arrangements by childcare organisations. The Municipality of Best wants equal and optimal development opportunities for all children aged 0-13. They aim for one place where childcare, education and development stimulation go hand in hand and from where all children have the opportunity to develop optimally and make a smooth transition to primary education. This means that the Municipality of Best works together with education and childcare organisations on so-called integrated child centres. The opening of this playgroup is therefore fully in line with this policy.

Optimal development opportunities are created in the playgroup by offering versatile and appropriate play opportunities. Here, children learn to play together and to be considerate of each other. They learn to express themselves with song, dance and materials and play in an environment where language plays an important role.

The close cooperation with childcare Little People, the playgroup and primary school the Heydonck makes the transition to primary school much more pleasant.

Debbie Beunis, director of childcare Little People, says: "Because we align visions and goals and have structural and smooth communication between our organisations, the transition to primary school is very pleasant for every child. The school leaders already know the child so well that they know exactly what guidance is best. In addition to the communication transfer, for example, we occasionally allow a child to get used to a kindergarten class if we notice it is ready. We fully share the vision: 'At the Heydonck you are allowed to be and become', within Little People and now also at the Preschool. "

Practical information

The preschool is located at Wildheuvel 17-19 in Best. The opening hours are Monday to Friday between 08.30 and 11.30. The group employs several professionals who are additionally VVE-certified. The team consists of Irma Voets, Suzanne van Leuken and Marit Kamp.
