Future plans location Wildheuvel
Dear parents/carers,
Recently, we have noticed reports circulating about the future of childcare at Wildheuvel and that this may raise concerns among you. Therefore, we would like to inform you personally and clearly about the short-term and long-term plans for the Wildheuvel location.
Short term
We informed you in November 2025 about the reception of Ukrainian displaced persons and status holders at Wildheuvel. With this letter, the municipality also invited you to walk-in moments on 16 and 17 December 2025. The Best municipality will temporarily make the two vacant semi-detached houses on Wildheuvel, namely numbers 9-11 and 21-23, available for housing for these people. The municipality wants to emphasise that the not is about an AZC. It involves temporary housing for dozens of people.
- One semi-detached house will temporarily house Ukrainian displaced persons. They are staying here under European regulations, which currently run until 4 March 2027.
- The other semi-detached house will house two families (status holders), who have been allocated to Best municipality. This means that Best municipality has to look for suitable permanent housing in Best. Once they move on to permanent housing, we will look again at which (possibly smaller or composite) families can live here temporarily. The property will remain in use for status holders until mid-2029.
Long-term
Our current building on Wildheuvel will be converted into housing in the future. This will not happen in the short term. On the contrary, we are currently in full discussion with the municipality about our future housing. Our children and their parents are central to this. Together, we are looking carefully at solutions that fit the needs of the families who currently enjoy using our care at Wildheuvel.
The building we are in now is outdated. A new building can actually bring a lot of beauty: a fresh, safe and modern environment where children can develop optimally and have fun playing. As always, we put quality, safety and the well-being of the children first, that never changes.
We understand that changes may raise questions. We want to reassure you that, together with the municipality, we are guiding this process with great care and attention. As soon as there is more clarity, we will inform you.
Do you have any questions? Feel free to contact us. We are always at your service. For up-to-date information, please visit www.gemeentebest.nl/wildheuvel.

Debbie Beunis
