Sam has a little brother!
Sam has a little brother!
Together with his mothers Nicole and Sonja, Sam went by plane
been to America to get his little brother Tim and take him to
bring home. Home Sweet Home!
Sam is Nicole and Sonja's first child. He has been with us at Little People on Bee Heath for a few years now. Sam is from Philadelphia, USA and was adopted by Sonja and Nicole 2.5 years ago. Fortunately, they chose Little People because our homely, small-scale, personal atmosphere appealed to them so much.
On 20 August, Tim was born. He is from Atlanta. Sam picked Tim up with his mothers all the way from America right after the birth. He was super proud of his little brother!
Tim's biological mother is originally from Haiti. Like Sam's mother, she felt Sonja and Nicole could give her child a better future than she could do herself. After all, there is a lot of poverty with accompanying misery in Atlanta.
Both adoption processes have not been easy, but with quite a bit of perseverance, they have thankfully succeeded. Not everyone can adopt. There is a very strict selection process and a lot of supervision of the process by all kinds of agencies. In the USA, birth mothers choose the adoptive parents themselves. If the birth mother wishes, contact with the adoptive parents remains. This way, a bond can always be maintained. Every year, Sonja and Nicole make a photo book that is sent to the adoption agency and the birth mothers may receive.
Nicole and Sonja desperately wanted children. It was the next step after their marriage. Since there are many children in the world who do not have it nearly as good, they decided to adopt. Now that they have two clouds of children, the family is complete.
The Little People childcare team is also delighted with Tim's arrival. He is a beautiful baby whom we love to see growing up with us.
We wish the family lots of happiness, love and good health!
