Hello, I am Rian and work at toddler playgroup 't Hummeltje.

I started volunteering here when my daughter went to playgroup, which was in 1999. I attended quite a few courses and workshops by then and got my VVE certificate. In 2006, we moved to professionalisation and I passed the SPW3 course then.

I currently work five half-day sessions at the playroom, including two groups aged 2 to 4 and the 3+ group. This latter group come to the playroom for an extra half-day on Wednesday mornings and is more focused on preparing for primary school.

The best part of this work for me is following the toddler's development from how they come in to us at the age of 2 and how they go to primary school as a 4-year-old toddler. I think it is a great age to work with and therefore enjoy every time how the toddlers learn to play with each other, explore, their statements, their imagination, their honesty. Every toddler is unique!!!

From 1 January 2016, we merged with Little People, hereby forming an IKC together with primary school de Paersacker, everything is under one roof, our visions match well and there is good cooperation between us.
